Flette

The seating pad is made at our mill in Røros from Norwegian wool, adding a layer of warmth and softness while keeping the form of the chair or bench beneath visible.

The pattern is woven directly into the textile and reverses across its two sides, creating two related colour expressions from the same construction. Raised wool fibres give the surface additional depth and tactility, while the compact format is designed for use on dining chairs, stools and benches.

 

Flette is designed by Kristine Five Melvær as part of the Naturpledd series. The motif takes braiding as its starting point, turning a fundamental way of working with yarn into a woven pattern. The series uses yarn coloured with natural dyes, allowing material, technique and motif to follow the same idea.
