The half-size lightweight throw combines Norwegian lambswool with a compact format that is easy to move between chairs, sofas and other parts of the home. Woven in Røros, its small repeating structures are created directly on the loom, giving the textile texture and visual depth. The smaller scale reduces the weight of the throw while preserving the woven character of the full-size design.

 

Fri is designed by Anderssen & Voll as a reinterpretation of the traditional Norwegian table runner, or løper. The designers retain the small-scale repetition characteristic of the original textile while changing its scale, use and colour. The result takes a familiar piece of Norwegian domestic weaving and gives its underlying pattern a new context.
