Knut

The seating pad is made at our mill in Røros from Norwegian wool, adding a layer of warmth and softness while keeping the form of the chair or bench beneath visible. The pattern is woven directly into the textile and reverses across its two sides, creating two related colour expressions from the same construction. Raised wool fibres give the surface additional depth and tactility, while the compact format is designed for use on dining chairs, stools and benches.

 

Knut is designed by Hallgeir Homstvedt. The pattern begins with the fundamental construction of a woven textile: vertical and horizontal threads crossing one another. New colours appear where the yarns intersect, turning the logic of warp and weft into a precise grid. The structure becomes both the method of making and the visual expression of the design.
