Lynild

At our mill in Røros, we weave each wool throw from Norwegian lambswool, building the pattern directly into the textile. The jacquard construction allows colour and pattern to reverse from one side to the other, while brushing lifts the wool fibres to give the finished throw a softer, fuller surface.
We have produced wool textiles in Røros since 1940, and the same material and weaving knowledge continues to inform how each throw is made today.

 

Lynild is designed by Anderssen & Voll. Its name translates from Norwegian as “fire stitch”, referring to a textile pattern with roots in medieval craft. Anderssen & Voll rework the historical structure through graduated colour, drawing the palette from Norwegian mountain landscapes while allowing the repeated woven pattern to remain clearly recognisable.
