Melvin

Our jacquard baby blanket is woven in Røros from Norwegian lambswool. We construct the pattern directly through the weave, allowing the colours to reverse across the two sides of the textile. After weaving, the wool is brushed to lift the fibres and create a softer, fuller surface. The smaller format translates the same material, colour and jacquard construction used across our wider throw collection into a wool blanket made for early years.

 

Melvin is designed by Kristine Five Melvær. Abstract floral forms sit against a graduated field of colour, with the palette drawing on the colour relationships found in traditional Japanese woodblock prints. The combination of simplified flowers and gradual tonal change gives the woven surface both pattern and depth.
